I wanted to go drifting, so I bought an MX5. I think I loved this car more than any car I’ve ever owned, and regret selling this more than any car I’ve ever sold!

I only sold it because work started sending me to the other end of the country to work, and you can’t turn up at client sites with a stripped out drift car as your daily driver and expect to be taken seriously. trust me, you can’t!

Lexus LS400

Description

  • Chassis code: UCF20
  • Engine: 4.0l 1UZ-FE (262hp) V8
  • Transmission: 4-speed A340E automatic
  • Colour: Blue
  • Wheel fitment: 5×114.3

Originally bought so I can rip the engine out to fit into a Lexus IS300 body when I find one, the sheer luxury-ness of this car has now swayed me enough that the LS will be the only daily driver I’ll ever own! (I’ll only get another LS when looking for another main car.)
Everything about this car is amazing, all round heated leather seats, electric everything, and the 262hp V8 delivers loads of torque and power that will launch you towards the limited top speed of 155mph. Not bad for a 1.6 ton barge!

This was the first car I ever financed, therefore the most expensive car I’ve ever owned. After owning my LS400, I wanted something ultra luxury, and the finance company wouldn’t finance the LS460 that I wanted, so once again I knee-jerked and bought the first thing I found on Autotrader.

This car was fast, and comfy, and luxurious and I loved it! But it was far to big and heavy to take on track days and I started to get that race car itch, so I knew that this would have to go. When the finance company said I could return it and re-finance, I sent it back.

I fancied a change and decided that a Japanese Import minivan costing £160 was too good a deal to pass up! Everyone laughed at me when I told them what I had, until they came for a ride that is. Then they realised that it was an awesome piece of kit!

I bought it to be a tow vehicle to take the MX5 to track days, but it quickly became my daily driver. That is until I road tripped it to Barcelona with some friends. When looking for log cabins, it unfortunately suffered catastrophic damage to the drivers side front wheel somewhere up in the Swiss alps and had to be recovered by the breakdown company. After providing me with a hire car to continue on my way, they informed me that they wouldn’t recover it back to the UK.

It’s remained in a recovery depot somewhere in France ever since. 🙁
